Different criteria for the films chosen to be presented in 40 NORTH include:

quality of image, sound, choreography and dance; with attention on camera choreography and innovative use of editing techniques, as well as cultural relevance and social consciousness & awareness.

We believe that the films submitted and selected from around the globe reflect back to us: our place as movers and artists in an evolving, diverse and complex world.

We select films based on both technical quality and creativity. We value an array of expressive content whether it is aesthetic, abstract, social, political, environmental and/or other.
